Fashion Design

Fashion is a challenging, glamorous and exciting career. From designers to fashion buyers, merchandisers and retail managers, the fashion world demands creative,  committed and highly skilled people.

This one-year Certificate in Craft Enterprise (Fashion Design) is an extremely practical course that will provide you with the knowledge to pursue an active career in fashion design. The programme will enable you to enter the highly competitive fashion industry with the theoretical and practical skills needed to open up a wide array of career paths and job opportunities. Throughout the programme, emphasis is placed on conceptualisation and innovation.

You will design and make a number of garments during the year and have the option to attend one (or more) of the South African fashion weeks. In addition, at the culmination of the programme, you and your fellow students will hold a fashion show showcasing your own designs and judged by experts from the fashion industry.

On completion of this course, students have the option to continue with the second year.
