The Oakfields College two-year Sound Technology programme is an intensive audio education that covers every facet of music and audio production via a hands-on, learn-by-doing approach. Professional recording engineers will train you in the full range of audio engineering and music production skills, including recording, mixing, and optimising audio for music, movies and television. The programme includes training in both classroom and hands-on lab environments covering the widest range of audio disciplines including music production and sound-for-picture audio postproduction. During the course, you'll learn how to record an album and set up your own recording studio. On the practical side, you'll be trained on state-of-the-art equipment ranging from the old analogue systems to the latest digital technology. Entry level is a grade II certificate, or mature students can enter the course on the strength of their interview. In addition to the full-time courses OAKFIELDS COLLEGE also offers part-time courses on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
