A creative home-away-from-home in the East Rand
The East Rand Campus of Oakfields College is set in the developing suburb of Greenstone. The college is surrounded by secure townhouse complexes filled with young professionals and families. As a student this means that there is an abundance of accommodation to suit various budgets if you are coming from out of town.
The college is on the lower level of the Stoneridge Centre which affords the campus the privacy and freedom required for a college whilst, at the same time, enjoying the benefits of a shopping centre including 24 hour security, ample parking, numerous restaurants and a wide variety of shops. The centre also has entertainment which includes adventure golf and go-karting.
Once you enter the campus you will immediately feel at home amongst the brightly coloured walls. The staff are passionate about what they do and care deeply for each and every student.
Most of our lecturers are professionals in the industries in which they teach, giving their students the edge when it comes to learning as they have their finger on the pulse with what is happening in the industry.
On campus, you will always hear the sounds of students enjoying their time at college. From students singing in the passages, the drama students rehearsing, film or photography students taking videos or photographs for their projects or the sound students making music in the studio, there is never a dull moment.
Creativity oozes out of every single one of the people you will come across and a whiteboard never stays white for long as our animation and graphic design students see each and every empty space as a blank canvas.
Our fashion students are always hard at work creating exquisite garments and our photography students can be found creating the perfect shot in our in-house photo studio. If you need a film student for anything, you will most probably find them busy filming someone or some scene or expertly editing their footage in one of our three computer labs.
